About this list

Nobody can walk into the groups on this page from outside. The Schach-AGs belong to their schools and take only their own pupils: in Karlsruhe the Fichte-Gymnasium meets on Friday afternoons, the Gymnasium Neureut plays at Wednesday lunchtime, the Max-Planck-Gymnasium has a group as well, and the Bismarck-Gymnasium listed a chess and shogi group on Mondays for the 2025/26 school year. Outside the city there are groups at the Schillerschule in Bretten, with several slots a week, the Eichendorff-Gymnasium in Ettlingen, the Ludwig-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Rastatt and the Lise-Meitner-Gymnasium in Königsbach.

The Hector Children’s Academy courses in Bad Herrenalb, Baden-Baden, Bruchsal and Gernsbach are for primary pupils nominated by their schools, and one of them is taught by a grandmaster. A child who wants to play outside school can join the youth training of a club, listed with the club evenings.
