Friday is the main club night of the region. In Karlsruhe the Karlsruher Schachfreunde 1853 play from eight at the Bürgerzentrum Südstadt and Slavija Karlsruhe at the AWO Club 50+, while the Schachfreunde Neureut teach their young players in the afternoon. Around the city the Schachklub Blankenloch, the Schachclub Bretten, the Schachfreunde Graben-Neudorf and the Schachclub Waldbronn begin at seven, and the Schachklub 1926 Ettlingen at eight after its youth training.

Many village clubs put children and adults on the same evening: the Schachfreunde 1934 Wiesental in the Schachklause of the old town hall, the Schachfreunde Zeutern, the Schachfreunde 1954 Conweiler, the SV Vimbuch under the roof of the Vimbuch town hall and the Schachclub Durmersheim. In Sulzfeld the first Friday of the month brings an open blitz tournament, and the Schachfreunde Illingen keep an open club evening for young people and adults.
