Statement on privacy
What the form transmits
The form sends what you type: your name, one way to reach you and your message, meaning the place, the change, the page that shows it and how you know the place. The address and language of the page you sent it from are added. A hidden field that people never see is there to catch spam robots.
What notes are for
Notes are held by a form service until the next revision reads them. Their only use is to check what they report and to act on it. No one is written to unless a note asks for a reply and leaves a contact. Names and contacts never appear on the site, are not sold and are not passed to the club, school or organiser; the list of changes records the change, never the sender.
Visits counted without cookies
Karlsruhe Chess sets no cookies. A small script served from the site’s own domain counts page views; it stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you to other sites. Each view records the page, the page you came from, the browser, the type of device and the country derived from the request, and only totals are looked at.
Nothing loaded from elsewhere
There is no advertising, no social button and no outside tracker, and fonts, icons and images all come from the site itself. Links to sources and maps lead to other sites with their own privacy rules. Technical data such as IP addresses are handled by the hosting provider only as far as serving the pages needs them.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you want a note you sent corrected or deleted, send a new one through the form under the same name and contact and say so; it is done at the next revision, and you get a reply only if you ask for one and leave a contact. A complaint can also go to a data protection authority; for Baden-Württemberg that is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
