A chess school and courses 7

Three places here teach anyone who signs up. The Schachschule Karlsruhe on the Ettlinger Straße runs short courses for school children and adults, holiday training at a published price and a monthly open chess evening. Schach für Kinder, a children’s chess school on the Hardtstraße, teaches from Monday to Saturday at times agreed with the parents and gives the first trial lesson free. The Volkshochschule Baden-Baden runs gambit courses on Thursday afternoons for players who already know the game: one on gambits with White from September and two runs on gambits with Black that reach into 2027.

The four Hector Children’s Academy chess courses work differently: they take place at primary schools in Bad Herrenalb, Varnhalt, Bruchsal and Staufenberg for children their schools nominate, so a family cannot simply book a place. Club youth training, which any child can join, is listed with the club evenings.
